Visible is one of the last (of what was once hundreds) of pearl button (they used to use real pearl, but since the 1950s use plastic or nylon) factories once located in Muscatine. Too bad this isn't still in full C&NW OLS Paint! This by the way was the only train in decent light I saw the entire trip, so enjoy. |

MidAmerican Energy Company, Powder River Coal - I believe that the destination is the Louisa Generating Station just south of Des Moines, it travels over the CP/IC&E from Clinton to Muscatine - you have to wonder how long this train will continue operated by UP given that MidAmerican Energy Compay is owned by Berkshire Hathaway which is also buying BNSF) |
