Obviously that is the Mississippi River - bridge is the Iowa/Illinois (MSR) 92 - Route 92 is noted for keeping a continous name from Wyoming to Illinois - probably the longest continously numbered series of state highways in the U.S. In the distance is one of the locks and dams on the Mississippi - if I remember correctly, Lock and Dam Number 17.

Description:  Anyone who questions whether this is in fact a railroad picture should note that the park and trail I was standing on is located on a former Milwaukee Road yard and industrial lead before they were moved further from the river. Therefore, I say it counts. The river, of course, is the mighty Mississippi. The tug is the Aaron F. Barrett of the Ingram Barge Co.
